We, the owners of Leleshwa Camp , share a common passion for and commitment to conservation and community development and look forward to personally welcoming you.

We both have extensive experience in the safari and hospitality industry in various parts of Africa. Joe grew up in Kenya with family safaris as part of his childhood - "I have a biology degree and previously worked as a Professional Safari Guide in Botswana before returning to Kenya". Gillian was born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa - "I started my career working in some of South Africa’s finest hotels and resorts before making my way to Tanzania in 1995 and quickly fell in love with East Africa and its way of life. Joe and Gillian Charleson

I have been an amateur photographer for the past 30 years having acquired my skills as a photographer whilst doing my national military service. I turned my attention to wildlife photography when I was transferred to East Africa (Tanzania) by The Coca-Cola Company 14 years ago and have since travelled most of Africa. The establishment of a camp positioned as a photographers destination has long since been my dream and passion. I will act as the main host in our future photographic workshops. Mike North

I was born and raised on a farm near Dublin and this is where I first developed a love of wildlife and the outdoors. I studied Marine Biology and Oceanography at the University of Bangor in North Wales and first visited Africa in 2000 on a family holiday. I quickly fell in love with the continent and vowed to return, first moving to South Africa, where I spent 2 years attaining my professional guiding qualification, before relocating to Kenya. I have worked as a guide in the Maasai Mara for 3 years and have also lead safaris throughout the rest of the country. Andy Corbett

Sabine Joke - Camp ManagerI grew up in Germany, and started my career working with children. I always loved travelling but whilst visiting various parts of Africa, I found myself feeling ‘at home’. As the Camp Manager I give you a warm welcome to Leleshwa Camp. Sabine Jorke
